Battle of the 1st of June (1745)


The 41mm bronze medal commemorates the Battle of the First of June 1794 and Admiral of the Fleet Richard Howe (1726-1799). The obverse features a bust of Admiral Howe with natural hair in uniform and the inscription, EARL HOWE ADML OF THE WHITE K:G:. curved around the bust. The reverse depicts Neptune armed with his trident standing in his horse drawn cart and the curved inscription, FRENCH FLEET DEFEATED OFF USHANT and in the exergue, VII SAIL OF THE LINE CAPTURED I . JUNE MDCCXCIV.
