The Movement for the Popular Revolution (MPR) was Mobutu's personal political party. The government of the Republic of Zaire issued an official medal commemorating the 20th anniversary of the party (See above under Zaire). The party, itself apparently issued this medal. There is no verification as to the corrrectness of the ribon, which strangely enough resembles the ribbon design used by the rebel Province of Katanga for its three medals. It has been opined that the medal was given to blood donors based on its similarity to the Belgian Blood Donors Medal, a common practice in many countries.
