The 39mm x 29mm medal was authorized February 13, 1852, by President Suarez, and was issued in gold, silver or white metal. The center of the obverse is inscribed, AL VENCEDOR EN MONTE CACEROS, circumscribed by EL GOBIERNO DE LA REPUBLIC A ORIENTAL DEL URUGUAY. The reverse is inscribed 3 DE FEBRERO DE 1852.
